Ninth Iberian Latin American Apiculture Congresso
Exhibition Center Espacio Ferial y de Eventos Sur Activo
Concepción – Chile
Invitation
The corporation Centro Nacional de Desarrollo Apícola (National Center for Apicultural Development) and the Mesa Apícola Nacional de Chile (National Apicultural Board of Chile) are pleased to invite all apiarists from Latin America, the Iberian peninsula and the rest of the World to the Ninth Iberian Latin American Apiculture Congress to be held from July 9th to 13th, 2008. With the Ninth Iberian Latin American Apiculture Congress a new working modality will be initiated which was agreed upon in the framework of the Eighth Congress held in Spain in March 2006. Basically, progress will be made towards the constitution of a Multinational Apicultural Council, which will see to the strengthening of the exchange bonds between the members of the Iberian Latin American apicultural community and which would hopefully lead to the regulation of application and administration of the execution of the congresses. We hope that the congresses will become a space for exchange between the members of the scientific community, producers, industrialists, traders, the institutions for promotion and regulation related to apiculture in Spanish-speaking countries. In this sense, the spaces for the presentation of works in a wide spectrum of topics of interest will be strengthened by the more direct opportunities of exchange between the protagonists of the same topics and the access to the Apiexpo with innovative technology.
Among the important components to focus on are the following: the quality of the topics, the participation and reception by the host country. Regarding this, together with the Apicultural Council, a Multinational Scientific Committee is collaborating too, which pre-qualifies the works and strengthens the conferences as to topics of and triggers the expectation of propositions from the host country on aspects of logistics and alternatives for tourism or guided tours to producers of apicultural industries in the close vicinity.
